LEICESTER star Riyad Mahrez was reportedly hoping to join Manchester United on transfer deadline day.
The Leicester winger, 26, was given permission to leave Algeria’s World Cup squad to finalise a move before the window closed.
Reports on the deadline day suggested that the Algerian international jetted into London for a move to Chelsea
But the Starsport has been told that Mahrez’s representatives were trying to force through a move to Old Trafford. However, the Foxes rejected the figure and demanded an eye-watering £50m for their key man.

Mahrez was named the PFA Player of the Year after playing a key part in Leicester's title-winning season.
